2k2-2k3 alarm???

Because I heard alot of ppl got their HID stolen, just want to see if they got factory or after market.I was just curious and wonder how many of you folks with 2k2-2k3 with factory alarm? And how many got aftermarket alarm and what brand did you get?Cause I just wired a shock sensor to the factory alarm, and looking to get maybe the viper tranponder or somrthing soon.Thanx for reading and feel free to post.

Everyone has a factory alarm... it comes w/the car. Obviously it's useless (as is) since so many NY/NJ people have gotten their headlights stolen and a # of people have gotten their wheels stolen (one guy <0.5 mile away from me).

I ended up getting a Clifford Intelliguard 6000 along w/battery backup siren, tilt sensor and wheel locks. Luckily I've never heard of HID thefts in the Seattle area (where I live).

HOLLY COW!So most ppl on here depended on the factory keyless entry to guard their HID.I hate those factory alarm cause they don't any good except to maybe open the door.

Factory alarms are garbage.. You can just pop off the handle and cut the wire and the windows will roll down.. That is on a 2k2-2k3.. Definitely get an aftermarket. I have the viper 790vx with 1 shock sensor for each headlight, another shock sensor for the interior, a proximity sensor, and a backup siren/battery. Might be a lot but I live in NYC

how much is everyone paying for an aftermarket alarm? i need to get one, but the place by me wants $330 for a new alarm and 2 shock sensors....seems kinda high since it's got the stock alarm wiring already

Well I think the viper 790vx is pretty good, but does anyone know where you can get one without it being install and how much?I don't want to risk it since I am living in Houston.MacGyver what kinda alarm was it that they want $330.00 for it?

put a man swallowing snake in there and park in it in a vault (the kind with key and combination to unlock).

sarcasm man (maxappeal) says this because if anyone wants you ish,or any piece of your ish, he can easily have it. all you can do is be somewhat aware of your surroundings and do small things that may lessen the risk.
but dont mortgage your home on a false sense of security. be reasonable.

Not that bad of a price. The factory alarm wiring has nothing to do with putting in an aftermarket alarm, so it wouldnt make it cheaper in any way.

Any reputable dealer would not sell a Viper alarm of any kind without installation. All Viper alarms are required to be dealer installed.

None of them, Viper,Clifford, and Python all must be dealer installed. The Hornet 554T is very similiar but also requiers the install.

Sorry for the bad news.
