Clear bras on a white car= ugly

Well, after butchering the install last week, the company was kind enough to send me another one for $20. I took my time putting it on this time and it still came out with bubbles in it.

I played with it for an hour or so, but I started to realize that the bubbles weren't the problem. The yellow tinge and thickness of the clear bra was what was really bothering me.

I ended up just peeling it off. I am going to put 70 coats of wax on the hood tomorrow and count my losses. $100 lesson learned.

ooooh.. sorry to hear that. i was really considering the clear bra for my own car since i just had the whole front end repainted. i guess this board just saved me another $100.

thanks for the heads up asu.

Oh, one more thing. The bra is poorly designed because the two dimples on the hood appear to get swallowed up by the clear bra. The clear bra overlaps with the dimples by about a half inch, so with the dimples getting covered like that, it makes the clear bra stand out like a sore thumb. I tried trimming it, but I eventually figured out that clear bras suck and threw in the towel.

I am, however, madly in love with the clear fog light protector kit that I bought for $20. You can't tell it is there and it will definitely keep me from cracking another fog light on my 2K2.

Sorry Andy, so the clear bra looks good on dark colors then.

Where did you get you clear bra from? Rememeber it may look like crap when installed but it is protecting the paint.

Looks good on black

I installed mine 2 weeks ago. At first, I thought it would look like crap because of what looked like very small bubbles. I tried for quite a while to squeege them out, but no luck. Figured I'd have to live with them. But 36 hours later they were gone!!

I read that the thing 'breathes' and those small bubbles will go away, and they did. Very happy with the look (or lack of it) on black.

Yeah Andy, it does overlap those hood dimples, but I got my bra to follow the contour very well.
