You can do transmission fluid yourself, as well as the brakes. If you don't feel confident, have a friend help that's done it before. To get an idea of what to do, check out http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php
Its an older max, but the writeups are very good, and similar to our cars.
If you're tires don't feel right, they probably need to be balanced. But if you're alignment is off (car doesn't drive in a straight line), that's another thing.

My dealer wanted $400.00 for the 30,000 miles check up. They basically want to screw us out of money since all they really do is check fluid lines. I think all they replace is the wiper refills, pvc valve, and something else but I can't think of what right now. It's really worth the $400.00.

No.
Look at the descriptions. If it says "inspect" in it, then all they do is look at it (if you're lucky) and check a box on a form (if they require forms).
Inspected items:
1) Brakes
2) Tires
3) Windshield washer fluid
4) Fuel lines
5) Light bulbs
Change/Replace Items:
1) Oil/oil filter
2) Transmission fluid
3) Engine coolant flush
4) Lube chassis
Then look at the "dealer" extras they may throw in for free:
1) Wash car
2) Vacuum interior
And you're gonna pay $400 for that? How about this. Contact Summit Racing on the web and order 4 quarts of Redline (or Amsoil) transmission fluid. Then have it shipped to your house. Drive down to Jiffy Lube and pay them about $100-150 (if you want). Have them flush your coolant and change the tranny oil. Have them replace your oil and oil filter. Vacuum and wash the car yourself. Save at least 1/2 or more ($150 at Jiffy Lube + $50 at Summit Racing). Enjoy.
And welcome to the .org!!
