waxing after clay bar

There's no reason why I can't wax after I use the clay-bar, right? I wanted to make sure, just in case anyone here has done it with horrific results.

Yes, search is down for me and I keep procrastinating on my donation fee.

I would follow the usual write up found every where...I've followed it on a friends car with no probs...

1. wash
2. Clay w/detail spray
3. rinse off or wash hastly
4. polish/wax

You MAY be able to wax after claying, but IMO I wouldn't...the clay bar leaves a residue. You could go over all the spots you clay with a clean towel and detail spray, then wax IF you aren't claying large areas....

If your claying large areas. I would just rewash quickly then wax...

A quick rewash should n't take more than 20 minutes, compared to the amount of time you'll spend going over every spot you clay to get the residue off...

Just my 2 bits...Sorry for the lenghty reply...detail-a-passionato

No no, that's good! I wasn't sure if I was suppose to let sometime pass after the clay bar or if I can go right into waxing. But I'll wash again after the clay before the wax.

I am a professional detailer and here is what I do:
Hand wash the car.
Dont bother drying it because the water will add to the lubrication for claying any ways.
I use a quick detailing spray because I do not want to rewash
Spray an arear about 3 x 3 feet.
Run the clay bar back and forth until you have little to no resistance.
Take a microfiber cloth and wipe it off.
You can then either wax or polish or swirl mark remove that area or do the whole car then go over it again with a good QD and then start waxing. Re-wash is re-work and you dont need to do it if you are careful.

I did the whole clay bar on my car today. I put a coat of Meguier (sp) wax on it right after. I couldnt really tell how it ended up because it was dark when I was done. I will let you guys know tommorrow if I had any problems with doing so. I dont think so though.
