Daytime lights on '03 Max?

The new Max I picked up has daytime lights. They can't be turned off and stay on after you turn the car off for about a 60 seconds.

Is this a Nissan feature?

I have a feeling it is dealer installed and I will be going right back to remove this hassle of a feature.

Thanks for the input!

That function can be reprogrammed at the dealership. They just have to hook it up to their computer.

Isn't it the "Auto" option on your turn signal hand on the steering column?

No this is on all the time! They stay on for a minute after the car is turned off as well.

Do you have an aftermarket alarm?

The only ones that do that are Canadian Spec. The delay after you turn off the car is a "factory safety feature". It "lights a path" for you to walk on at night. Another reason is you might have a defective light sensor on your dash. Also, If there is something covering it, the lights will come on then the switch is in AUTO position.

There was a sticker on the windshield that said the car came with this feature. I want to know how to remove this feature. I am familiar with the "auto" feature on my '01 and this is different. It is as was explained.

No aftermarket alarm

Wow, Ive never seen that, but there should be a way to disable it. Check the manual.

Read the manual and it says "Canada Only" feature. They did not show a way to disable it. I guess we will see what the dealer says.

I would say that you are the first one in the US that I've heard of... my '03 doesn't have daytime running lights.

Just the FOGS, ma'am.

I run my fogs (after rewire) in the daytime ALL the time now....extra saftey -- ok, I think it looks cool!

Just got new PIAA Extreme whites -- MUCH better color!!!

I don't think I'd dig my HID's on all the time without the option of running or not.

THat sucks!

That sounds like a good un-mod. Can't believe they just arbitrarily installed it - my guess is that's not an option people are screaming for...
