I tried to jump on a 2000 BMW 328i= today, and it seemed as if they didn't want any or they where to much of a PU**Y to try? Has anyone out there jumped on one of those over priced, whatevers, for that matter has anyone jumped on a IS 300 either?

No, but I'd lose an IS300. Sure it is $5000 more than the Max, with higher insurance cost and worse mpg, but I think its the best looking car out there. Will I buy it? Dunno, maybe if i'm in a crazy mood and stop caring about my hard earned money.

Well...

Well, probably it is because it is hard to find a 2000 328i. Most dealers will insist on selling you a 2001 330i. I own few Maximas and BMWs and I don't agree Bimmers are "overpriced, whatevers." Anyways, the I don't like the IS300 for a few reasons:

1.) Harsh ride compared to the 330i & Max, but has only fair handling. It understeers significantly.

2.) The chrograph gauges look cool but are so hard to read.

3.) The interior looks sporty but is not as comfortable, ergonomic, and luxurious as the Max and 330i.

I don't like the 330i because:

1.) The new steering is lighter than the 328.

2.) It is expensive. (You pay for what you get)

3.) Base models have no nice features.

The steering wheel is ligher, but it sure is heck of alot heavier and tighter than the Max. Base models are "base" models but you can option them up, cost money, but what car doesn't when you option them up? My parents and I looked at a 1999 323iA couple of months before purchasing the Max. It had all the features, sunroof-cd player-heated seats-leather-power seats-all the airbags (head/side/front/rear)wood trim...thats all I can remember and I know there is more. It was a loaded car, but on they day we test drove it, the car wouldn't start....That must have been embarassing for the salesman If only it started...It was $26,000 (preowned with 10,000miles) which is cheaper than the Maxima I got. I didn't get a chance to try the 328i but last weekend I had a chance to sample a 325iX wagon (my aunts) and that car is a blast to drive around town. Steering wheel may seem lighter than the older 323i, but you wouldn't notice it unless you drive both.

This weekend, my sister is going to the Lexus dealer to test drive an iS300. I'm going with her (of course!). She is thinking of trading in her 90 Max SE for a light silver iS300. CAN'T WAIT TO DRIVE THAT THING WHEN SHE GETS IT!

I would love to own an IS300 Solar Yellow. I have driven one twice and loved it. Its a really nice car, but I still prefer my Max to it, cause you get so much more for so less. I mean, yeah, id love to own an IS300, but i forget all about ever wanting a Lexus when I pull up next to a car at the red light, creep to the line, and turn off my OD.............

Two of my friends(they're brothers) are going to get a IS300 soon. Both are getting white. Anyway, if I was them, I would wait a bit longer until the manual transmission IS300 comes out. I like the new BMW 330, is it in the same price range as the IS300? I would like to get that. Better yet, why not just same up some money and get a new M3!

I've went up against 2 IS300s...

and both times, the results were the same:
Even off the line, start pulling in 2nd, by mid 3rd gear, I have about a car length. We were all spankin' new at the time, didn't even have our license plates yet!
Also went up against a GS300. Took him off the line about 1/2 car length, and was dead even through 3rd gear. I think I was lucky at the launch.

I fixed my other post. What I was trying to say is that I almost got a IS300, but bought an 01 I30T instead.
