Hey all, I was installing a weapon r dragon intake on my 2k maxima se once i was down there were a couple of hoses left which came from the engine. the car wouldnt start and wouldnt rev above 2.5k i tryed plugging them which didnt help i tryed a number of combinations nothing seemed to work. iwas thinking about drilling a whole in the intake and fitting them in there but since there is no spot for the on the one i bought i didnt think i needed them. well to no avial my car wasnt working with the new intake so putthe old one back on and the car is running fine now. what should i do to fix this problem? has anyone ever installed a similar intake and had any problems.

I have a 2000 GLE and had the exact same problems with my intake. The car would bounce back and fourth. Did you ever find any solutions. I am about to put the old one back on....

 

Well there are only 3 hoses that came off the stock intake, one being the crankcase hose. Not a big deal, just put a crankcase filter and remove the hose. Now you got two more left, one is for the VAIS (Variable Intake) and the other I forget what that was for. That one that I forgot can be vented to the air, no problem. The VAIS hose need to be attached to the intake so that it opens up the VAIS at 5k rpm, otherwise I believe its never going to open up if its just dangling there.

The face that your car is not starting up and reving above 2.5k, you sure you hooked up the MAF and put it the right way? I know it sounds stupid but the MAF has an airflow arrow on it. Do you have a check engine light on?
