Best intake available

Right now I have a CAI in my 2000 maxima with a K&N air filter, but I'm not too pleased with it. I'm not sure what kind of intake it is, but I think it's a cattman. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the best intake system I can get for a 2000 maxima? My friend has a place racing CAI on his 96 maxima and it seriously sounds like a fu**ing V8(ferosious). Does anyone know which intake would sound the best and increase performance the most? Thanx!

if you have a cattman intake, then you also have a place racing intake. they are the same thing. depends on what kinda of performance you are looking for, high end increase then place/cattman intake. for low end, then the warm air intake such as stillen, for a good mix of both, then the frankencar or firm fabrications intake.

Isn't it the other way around?... CAI is good for low end, and WAI is more high end I believe.

The ghetto airbox performs better on my car than the Frankencar or injen.

Dyno proof? I find it hard to believe that the ghetto box with all the original stock midpipe tubing is better than the FrankenCar.

Huh

Place/Cattman are Cold Air Intakes good for low end torque and everyday driving in hot summers. Stillen, Firm, and Frankencar are all Warm Air Intakes that only perform well when moving (and usually the faster the better). They provide much better top-end than the CAI. The Injen is a hybrid that keeps the intake in the engine bay but away from most of the warm air. It is neither a CAI or a WAI. I chose the Injen because of it's design and sound. The Injen offers a very nice midrange punch but sitting in traffic for long periods of time causes it to suffer from heat soak. If you are looking for a nice intake growl, check out the WAI (with Firm being the best IMO) or the Injen. You won't be disappointed.
