is it faster?

I read somewhere that the 2000 Maxima is a little bit slower than the 1999 Maxima because it's a little heavier? Is this true?

This forces me to consider getting that or a 2000.

Also, the extra power of the 2000-2001 Max is located in the high revs which is not easily used. Actually, most of the power is above the redline.

Well lets look at it this way, I don't really want to spend much over 15 grand for a new car. It will be getting 19's and a system eventually. I want an good ride quality, nice looks, but also performance. Thats what led me to the Maxima. I like the maxima's luxury/performance ratio for the money. You guys think there's another car maybe i should look at? Or maybe give me your opinion on which gen. Max I should get. BTW I got in a bad car accident where flipped my Maxima going around a turn after hitting this side wood wall. (moment of silence for the max). I fortunatly came out of that accident without a scratch on me so these cars are extremely safe. So I dont know how much 120+ mph driving id be doing to take advantage of the 5th's capabilities.
