01 AE Accelerator on a 03???
Hey guys,
I'm thinking of putting the 2001 AE Accelerator Lever Assembly as well as the 01 AE Brake Pedal Cover on my auto 2003 Maxima SE (Titanium Ed.)
I think it will look good with the Titanium package on my Max.
Question: Is this a difficult install, and whats involved putting it on a 02-02 auto Maxima?????
Thanks for any feedback, or reference to a "write up" about this subject!

In short...yes, it is difficult. Go to www.custommaxima.com and they have installation instructions on the page with the AE pedals. It was way more than I wanted to get involved with to install on an 03. The gas pedal assembly is not the same as it was in the 2k-2k1s and you need to wrap part of it with electric tape just to make it fit.
So...that is why I'm working with org member Wild ***** as we speak to get custom aluminum pedal covers made for our 2k2-2k3s! He's been doing it for some time with the Altima and we're working right now to get the Maxima pattern right. I should be getting the pedals for a test fit late this week. Once they're sized right he'll be selling custom brake pedal, gas pedal, clutch (if necessary) and even a 350z dead pedal replica!

gas pedal took less then five minutes..just wrap it two times in electrical tape so it will fit like a glove, brake pedal put it in hot *** water for like 5-10 minutes and you can easily put it on
i dont see why you would want to go through the trouble of gettin the wild ***** pedals and drilling holes in your max when these fit and are Stock Maxima Parts

I'd rather not have something like "wrap approximately 2 times around in electrical tape" as part of my installation instructions. That's really good. And yes, they are stock Maxima parts...for a 2k-2k1! They were never made to fit a 2k3. To each his own though. Go and read the instructions on custommaxima.com and decide for yourself.

the electical tap is so that the little plastic spacer, will fit tighter on the pedal
or you could go to homedepot and make a custom plastic spacer instead of the elctrical tape.
in any case it fits like a glove, i dont understand how anyone could complain
