fstb

I bought the courtesy parts fstb a while back and have had a little clearance problem since.When the car s in reverse it touches the intake manifold. Quest. is do you guys think some washers will help or will it be too high and touch the inside of the hood? Tanx.in adv.

Use the washers. 10mm I think. Most people said this works fine. I had used one on each bolt on my BOMZ FSTB to clear a hose and I had no problems hitting the hood.

I'm also using the Courtesy FSTB. It shouldnt touch the hood at all. I have clearance of about 1 inch after I close the hood. Try adjusting the bar slightly.

I installed my FSTB on the weekend with 10mm washers. No hood clearance problems.

OTTO fits great.... no washers.
Stillen fits great... no washers.

You get what you pay for.

Washers.

I also have the Courtesy. I continued to screw out the adjusting screws until I had plenty of clearance between the bar and the intake under torque. You don't need washers and there is plenty of hood clearance. You'll get it with a little trial and error.

Stillen FSTB = $172.71

BOMZ FSTB = $35 + Washers = $0.85
Total = $35.85

Savings = $136.86

I agree with for the most part that you get what you pay for, but in this instance I'll keep my BOMZ FSTB thanks

ps: I think the BOMZ looks nicer than the Stillen bar!

This is the BOMZ (notice the silver end plates, and it says BOMZ in red on it but you can read from the pics):
