stock 6-spd vs. stock 5-spd 4th gen?

How bad would the 4th gen get owned?
specifically looking for # of car lengths?
I have a 5-spd 4th gen but I want an '03 6spd soon.

just add a couple more car length than if you were to race a 5speed 00-01.

5-6 car lengths in the 1/4 mile. Average: 15.1@92mph vs 14.6@96mph. Above average: 14.8@93mph vs 14.2@98mph. You're pretty much looking at about .5-.6 seconds and 4-5mph.

Well I have a 2003 SE Auto, I actually raced a 96 Maxima 5-spd. We raced from start to about 85 mph(that's when I decided to shut it down) at which point I had about 3 cars on him.

yeah but let's take the driver out of this...just assume that both drivers have the same exact skill.

Owned pretty bad, if you driven a 3.0 back to back with 3.5 they feel like the same car until you 1/2 throttle to floor them. Not even in the same ballpark "bye bye" 4th or early 5th gen.

The 4th gen could win if driven with the proper tactic.

Lock your wheel toward the 6sp and ram him as the race starts ...
race is all yours after that.

I have owned both. The six speed is definitely a lot faster. Not only do you have more power, but when you shift, you are put in the sweet spot in every gear. With the five speed, you go into the new a gear a bit low in the RPMs. The 6 spd also gets to around 45 in 1st. I dont remember what the old one did, but it was less.

45 in 1st? Are you sure? Sounds a bit much.
