what kind of wear n tear/strain/problems does a SC do to a Maxima?

hey guys:

i was originaly going to buy a 2001 AE, but i figured i would head emax02's advice and just buy a 2000 SE, and put a super charger on it. with the money i save from getting a older car and the non-AE i should be able to afford the SC. but my question to you... is the super charger bad for the car? i have talk to ethan about this before but i want diffrent opinions... i have it set in my mind that a SC is bad for the car and will make things break alot quicker. not to mention that the life of the car will be limited. does anyone have any info on how a SC affects the car? does it or the car break alot? should i buy a used SC? please help me out! thank you very much. and just an case i will post this in the sc/turbo fourm. thanks again.

The SC alone will not reduce your reliability by much, I mean if the SC breaks the car will still drive as if it is un-supercharged. Unless of course your pulley melts off or you spring a massive oil leak Both problems can be avoided for the most part if you get a up-graded pulley and do the install correctly.

The abuse the SC causes to the car is completly dependent on the abuse the driver of the car gives it. If you drive like your on crack like me and you your gonna need a new clutch right off the bad, followed by new tires. If you baby the car your reliability will stay 99% there, but why SC if your gonna baby it, right..

You keep asking what kind of effect the SC will have on the long term. Who cares? You know your not going to keep the car for more then a year or two So have fun SC the car and give me a good race.

A SC will not be as reliable as a stock Maxima. It will however be more reliable than a Daewoo JK.

If you install it properly and not overboost you should be very reliable.

The warm up characteristics of the motor are un-changed by adding a SC....
