Some 6th gens here in Lewisville(Bankston) have been on the lot for 2 months and my sales guy says people look and never get back with him.
I drove three at Bankston/Lewisville on two visits, and I never got back to them. The day I bought mine at NTN they delivered three. I've seen a mirror image of mine right here in Flower Mound. Hell, there are at least two other blue AEs here too. One with tinted windows, one without. Time will tell I suppose, there is a lot to choose from at this price point.

Yup!

As for the fast driving: The only fear I have when running 100mph+ are the police. However, I do pick my spots to run that fast.

The last time ran my Max above 100mph was when I was heading back to NJ from upstate NY (I-87). I was messing with/being messed with by a couple of brothas driving a 2G Acura Legend and a 4G Maxima SE; I smoked the 4G Max BADLY but I didnt really start to rip the Legend until I reached about 125mph.

just because its an SE, does not mean there is not governor. blubyu2k2 has a se and tops out at 130 with his auto just as my 2k1 ae auto does as well. mine was backed up with my gps and the car would just roll into 130 and roll back down then back up. i began to think those that took their autos above 130 were either full of it or had speedo error which can be significant at that speed, but ive seen alot of autos post they can go above 130 so who knows. i do know that every se auto ive been in has been limited to 130 no matter what year 5th gen it was.

Well, I have hit over 160 in my Ws6 and it felt great !, Yes, it's definetly hitting some sort of limiter. Its not drag or anything else. I know what a fuel cutoff feels like. I know Matt (Blubyu) has also stated this. I have tryed about 5-6 times, even downhill to pass the 130 mark, and no luck. BTW, this is on a pretty empty highway in So cal, usually late at night. One time I passed a Highway Patrol, in my WS6 at about 140+, he turned his lights on for a few seconds, then turned them off , and didnt even bother chasing me....No I wouldnt do that again !

My 6spd seems to do the same, but at 137 mph. I guess I got lucky with an extra 7mph I have tried to get past there a dozen times, but it always cuts out exactly the same.

I commute 150 miles a day, so I run 90 to 100 mph; time is money. I hit 120 at least twice a week, when I'm bored and the road is clear.

I followed an Alabama State Trooper for 3 hours with the cruise set at 87. By the time he got off the interstate I had 14 cars trailing!

No speed governor on the 6 speeds.

separated at birth... I swear that the first time I saw the '04 Maxima I thought it was an oldsmobile cutlass. The rear and side views are okay in an Altima kind of way. That front end, however, is pathetic. It screams oldsmobile to me. I truly believe that Nissan isnsisted on that rediculous grille treatment to "uglify" the Maxima to protect the G35 market. I am sure that there will be a lively aftermarket for replacement grilles.

Looking at the new max...I don't think it was intended to be a racer. I like them..and think it would be an excellent family car....but when the sticker enters G35 territory....something is really wrong with that picture

Thats the point. It would be insane to pay that when you can get a G35 thats RWD, and an all around better car . I have seen fully loaded G35 sedans with Navigation at 38k , and loaded coupes at about the same. If it werent for the huge loss I would take on my car, I'd be in a coupe right now. But to pay 35-38k for a 6th gen is insane.....

Would you give up 30-31 for a g6 if it had everything you wanted on it?

I paid 31 for my Max, when they weren't discounting them at all, and also because I wanted every option available.

I saw a 6th Gen with Navigation here for about 30k. I am in the middle of a nightmare with Nissan service right now, and just because of that , I would get an Infinity , to be treated properly !

I've taken my 02 SE 6spd to 140. No limiter to that point. I had to exit soon after so I backed off.

Ditto on the speed limiter, it's probably spec rather than date of build. I've got one of the first 2k2's that came out. (July build IIRC).
Very specific - it was an open highway, and there was a C55 AMG ahead of me as bait

Well mine hasn't been past 130 yet but it doesn't roll up to 130 and cut and then back to 130. It just hangs at 130 for as long as I keep it floored. I had it floored for about 15 sec after hitting 130 and nothing and what ****ed me off is it was gaining nicely until that point.
