when I turn it. Left or right, I hear a slight "HISSSSS" like it is rubbing against something. I'm not that scared about it, I just thought it was interesting to hear. Do you guys here this too? If not, I guess I'm in trouble

Is the noise occuring when you've turned the steering all the way to one side? If so, it's just the power steering pump trying to turn the wheel more, but since it can't, it makes a hissing noise. That's perfectly normal.

In fact, if you hear any hissing noise at all when you turn the wheel, that's pretty normal too I think. As long as it's not very loud.

In low speed manuvering like in a parking lot or at a stand still, you will hear some hissing from the power steering pump like Eric L. mentioned. It should be less noticeable at higher speeds. The power sterring has a speed sensitive assist so that at higher speeds, it gives you much less steering boost resulting in a more 'connected' feel.

Yes I had this same noise coming from the wheel itself. It is not your power steering, etc making noises! lol, anyways its just something rubbing when you turn, it its so hard to hear it really didn't bother me since I had the radio on most of the time.

Yes it is from the steering wheel itself not the power steering. I can only hear it when I make turns at low speeds. Well since you have it too..I feel a little better. Most of the time I drive with the music off, so I can hear a slight hissing at low speed turning.

If its not the power steering, then do you hear it when you turn the wheel all the way to one direction? Meaning, you turn the wheel as far as it can go in one direction and then hear the sound, or while you are turning it?

No, its coming out of the steering column itself man, not the engine or car. IT is a plastic sliding/rubbing noise.

I haven't noticed anything yet of that nature. I will be sure and listen for it though.
