Igor:

I understand your pain! I got hit this week too by a teenager. Sorry about the damage.

Listen...it must be the sudden burst of bright sunshine over here on the Left Coast that is causing all such of hormones to start flowing again.

They are driving nuts right now.

As they say on "Hill Street Blues", "Be careful out there".

Thanks

Igor....you need some body shops like we got in NY...thats definitely not $10k worth of damage and definitely not a 2 month repair..maybe 2-3 weeks tops....

Take the 5 hour or so drive and I'll hook u up with my guy

Depending on how his insurance is going to handle it you might want to consider your options. Maybe take the money and run, etc...

Sorry to hear about it man, it's very ironic that it happened after that movie.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I opted out of driving over the weekend becuase I knew that all these kids were going to see 2F2F and break out their ricemobiles. I even had a friend who just got his 300ZX over the weekend, and after seeing the movie, he started beating that **** and reving it at 2:30 in the morning, and wanting to look for races. Needless to say, just three days after pickin up his car, its back in the shop...

i took it to the best place in town. Actually, it doesnt drive so they are towing it from my house there today. They specialize in Mercedes and BMW and were voted "Baltimores Best". I went for a tour around the shop and I gotta say, I was impressed!

Depends on what kind of damage was done by the curb. Since he had to have it towed, is sounds like alot more than just body work.

Hope you're okay man. 10K sounds like a lot, then again the damages on mine totals to about $7k and that's without them knowing what other internal damages there are (e.g. aside from the visible frame damage).

Maxima's are more and more becoming targets these days... what's up with that?

I am sorry to hear about your car, but I don't think it should take 2 months to fix, 2-3 weeks sounds more reasonable. I hope it all works out.

The guy who hit me has Progressive. The body shop told me it takes progressive 2 weeks just to set up paperwork. + When I went to the shop, they had 90 cars (the guy told me) waiting for repair. So...I rather wait and get it done right then get it done in 2 weeks and come back later with problems.
In the mean time, I am pimping a 2003 Xterra 4x4 All I have to say is what a POS

Don't need whitnesses. The guy said he was trying to get to the gas station.

His insurance is already paying

Sorry to hear about it man.

It does seem like there has been a lot of Maxima wounding lately. However, this is the excuse to

I, too, feel your pain. I got hit in the driver's door by a 91 Corsica. Scraped the front wheel, back of the front fender, drivers door and front of the back door. I get it back Friday, 1 month to the day from when I took it in. I agree that having it done right is worth the time. The shop I took mine to does Benz, Jags, Volvos Porshes BMW, etc. They are good and have impressive shop. (they are even fixing the hood chips as a courtesy) Much damage behind the skin - app. $6000. His insurance pays everything.
Hope that your car comes out okay. I can't wait to turn this Camry in and get the Max back.

You guys should also go after the insurance companies for "diminished value". Basically, when you sell / trade your car, someone will ask "has it ever been wrecked?". And good chance if the answer is yes, you'll get a lower price / trade.

Make the insurance company pay that too - no reason you should take a loss because of their client.
