Has anyone with 2K that has power problems tried having the fuel injectors cleaned?

Has anyone with 2K that has power problems tried having the fuel injectors cleaned?

I'm curious if this may be the cause of my power loss. I've already changed the spark plugs and air filter and wonder if the fuel injectors might be the problem. BTW my car has 62,000 miles.

Thanks.

Could be CTS, MAP, MAF, TPS, or Knock sensor. MAP is a good probablility for low power situations.

CTS (coolant temperature sensor) MAP (manifold absolute pressure sensor) MAF (mass air flow sensor) TPS (throttle position sensor). Be more specific with "power loss". When does it happen? Does the car have any problems with rough idle, or surging while idling/accelerating? Is there hesitation during acceleration etc.

There's really not any noticeable problems. The idle is fine. It just does't have the pick up it initally had when I purchased it new. When I press the accelerator it just pulls less than it used to. It's more noticeable from a stop than it is from a roll, but it's still noticed when on the highway and I attempt to give the gas to pass someone. Would the service engine light come on for a bad MAF or MAP?

Possible fix

Try getting the ECU update from Nissan and get your throttle body cleaned (Do it yourself for $5). It helped my 2k MAX with 65K.

Is the ECU uddate covered under warranty. My car is low on power and currently has 50k. I dynoed at 180 FWHP with Intake/Y-pipe.

Re: Re: Possible fix

I think the update is covered only of you have an emissions problem like a P0420 code. My dealer didn't want to fix my problem but I called 1800Nissan1 and they helped me out. Also if you have that much of a drop off in power I don't think if has much to do with your ECU IMO. Good luck.

If you think the injectors are dirty, before you go and get ripped a new one by nissan service, try a bottle of the techron (small bottle mixes with 12-13 gallons of gas) or the BG44k.

I believe they use the same ingredient but the BG44k stuff is approx 4-8 x more concentrated.

Personally, I use the techron stuff every other oil change and I use it on the 2nd to last gas fill before my 3000 mile oil change, because the debris, if any gets flushed to your oil.

for $6 bucks you could answer your ?

The voltage output of each sensor has to drop to unacceptable levels before a check engine light comes on. However, small discrepancies in the signal can cause slight power loss and not trigger a code. MAP sensors commonly cause power loss/ hesitation issues. I agree with cyclecrazy55 & Woosh, get a bottle of fuel injector cleaner, make sure your TB is clean too. Try the cheap stuff first, cause the service department will cost you big $$$$ Do you use an after market intake that has an oiled filter?

Thanks.
what plugs did you replace them with? i would run a bottle of chevron techron fuel system cleaner, clean the throttle body real good, and make sure the type of plugs and gap are correct.
