Downshift!!

At what speed is the transmission suppose to downshift into 3rd from overdrive when you slow down?
It seems when I slow down on the highway and I am going about 30 mph the car is still in OD!!
Is this normal?

At those speeds it should still downshift to a lower gear unless your manually shifting.. How many miles is on your tranny?

The autos will stay in OD as you are braking or lift off the gas. They will only shiftdown when you apply the gas to accelerate.

Yes. The only thing you should worry about is when you do apply the pedal to accelerate, you feel a lag or hestitation, notice the RPMs rising but the car is not responding. Then your trans is slipping.
