Wet or Dry Nitrous kit on your 2k2 - 3 ?

Just curious of some of your opinions . I am at a crossroads. Give me some feedback. I am looking for no more than a 125 shot . This will be coming to my car soon !

Get a semi-wet, its the best one out there. Not too wet and jus dry enough. Now do you mean 125 directly into each cylinder? Cuz I think thats what I have in my Aviator.

g, dont get dry...
Id hate to cause a war here...
but nos sucks

NX has better mixture yeilding in a better shot..no need to pressure the injectors...You can leave your fuel system stock, Im using a 125 wet shot and amazingly, the fuel pump is holding up...and this 125 shot, is big.

I also believe a wet kit is MUCH simpler with the returnless fuel system on the VQ35's.

On the dry kit, you need an auxilary fuel pump to increase fuel pressure. SR20DEN did a dry kit, but even he recommends going with a wet.

So, why spend the extra on a aux FP for a NAAAAWZ kit that you don't need for the NX kit?

What are the long term effects of using a wet 100 shot? I'd like to keep my car for awhile (100K), and I'm not sure I could stay off the juice if I had it...I'd try not to go overboard though
Is it normal to put 100K on a car with nitrous?

On a different note I'm finally not a noob anymore!

dude....nitrous is a spray, you spray it when you want to go fast.
its not a turbo or a supercharger that runs all the time with the engine.

Killer2002se: Did you install the kit urself?? How hard is it... Which NX kit did you go with?? Is it direct port or through the intake?? I pretty sure wet can't be tapped in the intake but i could be wrong too..

IF your system is PROPERLY installed, maintained, and MOST of all tuned, you will easily get 100K miles out of a VQ.

There are guys here running 300-400whp on a 3-liter VQ, so I'm willing to bet that a 100-shot is just tickling the VQ35DE.

Please don't call it NOS, the correct name is NX or Nitrous Express, thats like calling your Maxima a Prelude.

NX guarantees their HP to be within 2% of the rated shot so if its a 100 shot thats how much it puts out.

M&H makes one that will fit on a 15x6, thats the only one I know of for that narrow a rim.

M/T recommends a 7" which I use but people have used them on 6.5" width with good success.

I tried the 22x8x15's on the millenia rims (15x6) and could not get them to pop the seal, had them up to 125 psi so I got the K1's which are a pound or two heavier but they popped and sealed at 20 psi.

Even if they did seal on the 6" the tire would be rounded quite a bit so the footprint would not be as good as with the recommended width.

Also the secret is to just burn them out once and after that just haze them off, burning the crap out of them every run is unecessary and just wears them out prematurely and will actually hinder traction.

I have tsw revos which are pretty heavy but they were cheap and came in 15x7. It took almost 60 psi to get them too pop the seal. Me and SR20DEN also mounted them by hand...WOW what a pain in the a$$.

Lets be more specific here. I recommend going with a DP.

Did NX bother telling you to use a smaller jet because of your higher fuel pressure? 52psi vs. 43

When I called, he told me to use a 33 jet... I wasn't really thinking and put it in and went for a ride..Then i said to myself..thats a pretty big difference between a 75 and 100 shot.. .009 jet size? No way

I called again and told him I get 48 PSI at WOT and he told me 33 is for a 125 shot and I need wither a 31 or a 28.

Guess he was hitting the booze that day..
