speed is 160mph" i was surprise "oh no way, the evo's with turbo, 273hp and 271tq the top speed is 155 and your f*****g bmw with 189hp and 184tq goes 160mph?" So guys i can kill this kid? I have an intake, a y-pipe, a b-pipe (w/o res) and a muffler...

 

don't worry dude, i can run my 2000 5 speed with GAB against my friends 97 m3 (i lose in the end around 90 to 100mph).

 

I raced a 97 M3 and i smoked it with my previous 2k2

 

Unless he has some mods he's not telling you about, or has more driving skills (unknown) the Max is faster than the 325.

 

i beat a new 3 series 6 cyclinder myself on the highway from 75 to 120 and i also raced a 96-99 m3 and beat him 1 out of 2 races at same speeds......

 

So he can hit 160 on the dyno before he runs out of gear.

Learn this kid a lesson.

 

This is almost as bad as a Civic rice boy talking smack. Tell him to get an older body M3 first so that he can atleast see you cross the finish line, but still lose by quite a distance. What a joke.

I recently drove a 2002 325 convertable and that thing was such a dog. So slow compared to my max and even my mom's 328i is ferrari compared to that thing!!!

 

the 90's 325's were very underpowered....I'd give him AT LEAST a 5 minute headstart..

 

Im Pretty sure that i can beat him... he said me "lets go with your maxima for a ride" I told him "alright lets go" I started the engine and i push the gas pedal until the floor, he was like "wow god you will kill me" I was like "this is my maxima" he was hearing the intake, the exhaust system and he was been afraid... I trust my baby very well!!

 

The max is an auto

 

I would manually shift then. Or maybe only go 3/4 throttle. Or maybe put a parachute on the back like the dodge hemi commercial.

 

Doesnt matter, the bmw 2.5 motor is the most underpowered motor I have even seen. Its even worst in the 525 its a full size car with like what 190hp? Mabye the guys speedo says 160 but all bimmers have a speed cut off at 155 which I seriously doubt he can reach. Even if he can pass the top speed of an auto max (130) the max would be like 3-4 bus lenghts in front by the time he hits 130 so it doesnt mean anything. Its like racing a stock honda, not even worth your time. Give play with him and punch it at 50 which is like 4500rpms you should gain 20-25mph in a few sec and run, not walk away from him by a good 3-4 cars just from that alone.

Hell, I inched a 02+ 525i 5 speed in my slow *** Taurus, so I'm sure you can take him.

 

The E36 325 barely has enough to take on a Sentra SE-R Spec V, let alone a modded VQ35 Maxima. Oh yeah, tell the guy that his speedo cable is in need of replacement.

 

He want normally aspired BMW's except for the 540 and M series are limited to 128 mph manual or auto.

 

I still dont think he can reach that speed.

 

the auto can only go up to 130 MPH???? That sucks... I took my 5 spd all the way to 155 on my way down from austin to houston. I was surprised my can could go that fast.. I had to let go a bit cuz my tires were starting to get off the ground..

 

The auto can acutally reach beyond 170mph if the speed limiter is removed and if the power is there to reach the speed. It has been done be4.

As I understand it, the SE Auto has no limiter. The GLE and GXE have the limiter.

It was in a 4th gen as to were is happened Somewere on a highwat Its one of the "quieter" members, Furbiss112. His car is modified to hell and the biggest sleeper max of them all. Looks stock, but his 3.0 is stroked to 3.4 and he has a different kind of blower on there that gives out more boost then the vortech units do and to topp things off a water/air intercooler and some nitrous. It is an auto, but its a prototype tranny built by Level10 so it can take some abuse. The speed is quite high but even in street tune just pushing 8psi on street tires hes ran 13.1 at almost 110. I belive hes just as fast as marigrasmax (who ran a 11.9) when using 14+psi and the nitrous with slicks. I havnt seen him post much latley but hes still here.

 

I still don't believe there are any 3.4 liter VQ30's.

 

The 3 series is not at all impressive until we get to the 330xi(all wheel) now that would smoke our max.Everyone assumes that the 3 series are fast but they're really not.

 

Well Matt if I could post pics of his engine block with him taking mearuments then it might be belivable to you but what can I say I cant. Given when pics I have seen from his car, its on hell of a sleeper and he's been running 12's a long time ago. Is it possible to do a 3.4 well, from what Ferhan says I guess but I still have no clue as to what crank he used to make it work. Im still as clueless about that situation as most who know about that car are. There is definetly something weird with his ride though, only 8psi and low 13's? with the 14+psi hes capable of pushing and the juice paired with slicks 3.4 or not hes goona run some pretty damn impressive times. He posted a few months ago under another name with a grip of pics with his ride under construction again. This guy has gone more then all out. What im more interested in, is what your car is capable of once your done. Im guessing your gonna make the runs next winter?

 

Most every AWD car is an impressive performer at the track. That only for one reason TRACTION! but that traction comes at a price of risking severe damage to the drivetrain and taking many miles off the clutch with every launch they do to get 60ft times under 2.0. I dont think launching at 4-5K rpms is gonna be too good for too long.

 

Don't sweat it. I drag raced my friend who's got a 2002 330i/auto(bonestock) up to about 100 mph where we shut it down, I had about a car length on him. (2k3 SE Auto)My only mods are Injen intake and Greddy exhaust. We are do to race at our track(ilegal racing) in a couple of weeks, I'm going to make sure I bring my camera along so I could show you guys how the Bimmer bows down to the Max. That same night I'm gonna try to persuade my brother to bring out his modded out TL Type S.

 

my stock 6speed handled a 330xi 4dr-on I-95- automatic i suppose- the coupes start gaining though past 110 mph- guy was suicidal too-

And you're saying that you beat a car that runs 14.4 in the 1/4 stock? You must have had one hell of a good launch. Of course, this is assuming the guy in the M3 knew how to drive. I'd call it a decently fair race against any 02-03 6 speed...
