Re: Any reason to avoid 2000 model year?

Don't worry about buying the 2000. There is some validity to be wary when purchasing 1'st edition cars but the Maxima has always been a reliable/quality car. I have a 2000 with 67k miles and have had the common problems associated with 2k max's but are easily fixed. I just read posts on this forum and did all the work myself and saved a bundle. For the money, Maxima's are hard to beat. Fast, smooth and roomy. What else besides a 10 sec 1/4 time could you ask for. Take the risk, you won't regret it.

I had made a longer post but someone apparently deleted it for some odd reason. I checked Search and the FAQs and couldn't find any info on this, so I don't see why it's not a valid question. Alas.

Thanks

Yes, it was Steve. I stayed with him door to door all the way to 2nd gear, where he then pulled away. At about 80 mph, he only had a car length on me, which amazed me, because I kept up so well.

I just bought a 2000SE this week. Paint looks good, they put new rotors on before I bought it. The 17" tires are expensive so beware of the condition of them. Some models had smaller tires. I love the power, ride and luxury. Had an 89 Maxima before this.
