Can't find the instructions on how to install the lower
grills on an 03. Buying from a friend of mine but not sure
if he's sending me the instructions. This is for the
grill-tech one. Didn't see it in the "how to section"

Please help me

 

It is really simple. All i used was 3 zip ties on each side. There's not much else to it.

 

Do you have any trouble with it rusting? I have heard people say the Grille-Tech is bad to rust. or Did you paint it? Also, which design and color did you go with, Racing or Diamond / Black or Silver? Thanks.

 

It has rusted. One side has rusted more than the other. I think it was impossible to avoid rusting with the winter we had in NY.

I will be painting it soon to cover it up. I went with the Racing Silver.

 

Before I bought my grill-tech grill, I read up on the org and found that people are having rust problems... Before I put them on, I took the initiative to go to Home Depot and pick up the Rustoleum clear coat rust protectant. I sprayed about 3 coats of that stuff on each side of the grill and then I zip tied them in...

They survived the whole rough northeast winter of snow, road salt... and now with the northeast having a horrible spring (way too much rain!) I have not seen one spec of rust on them...

That's my suggestion for you

 

Oh yeah... I went with the Silver Race style grill... I love the look it gives my car..

 

Hey, I went w/ silver diamond style on my grey lustre 02 and it looks great!!! I like pics I've seen of the race style grill also but definatly silver over black. It is so simple to put on and i only found it necissary to use one plastic tie on each side of each of the grills(it is a 2 piece grill for 02). The clearcoat idea sounds great!!! But if you wash and wax your car alot, waxing the grill too should be enough to stop the rust.

the new Grill-Tech grills are supposedly cleared and painted with better quality paint to resist rusting...I cannot substantiate this though

 

This is true!! check out thier web site. There are many testimonials and also they compare there grill inserts w/ competitors. IMO these are probably the nicest inserts on the market and for a great price!
