I have a 2000 SE auto. I just wanted to know, what is recommended RPM's that i should drive it at to get the best possible gas mileage and one more question. Is there damage done to the engine if i punch it occasionally and take it past 4 1/2 rpm's or 5 1/2??

 

There is no damage done in it. If you want to get the best milage, just drive normal. Flooring it at every light to get to say 35-45mpg aint recommended for best gas mileage or engine life either.

Just drive normal, maybe half throttle and it will shift as it should. You dont really have to worry about the RPMs on an Auto. Manually tranny yes since you control the shifts.
