I say replace your shocks at the same time. It will save your money on labor. I dont know about the ride though. I'm receiving mine on tuesday of next week and then I have to install them. I'll let you know how they feel

Info..>

H&Rs will give you a great ride. They are about 30% stiffer then the factory springs but no harsh ride. You car will be about 1.5 inches lower after settling and will settle evenly without saging.

As for riding with the factory shocks, it your call. What will fail first are the rear shocks, especially if you put lots of weight in the truck. With the setup you speak of you might get 10-15,000 miles out of the stock shocks with H&Rs before the car starts to bounce around.

I'd say spend the money and get the shocks/struts that will be needed for the H&R springs.

I payed around $600 shipped for springs and shocks from Shox.com.

My current setup is H&R springs, Tokico front struts and KYB adjustable rears shocks(over a year with this setup). Car handles great. The reason for the rear KYBs are the Tokico rears shocks suck and will not handle excessive weight in the rear.

H&R's

I've had H&R's on my car since day one with KYB adjustables on rear stock shocks up front with no problem. The ride is a bit stiffer and close to stock ride without the floating effect. I have approx. 40,000 miles and still going strong. Daily driver also. I have H&R wheel spacers 15mm front 20mm rear with 18x8's and the rubbing is very minimal only the right side rear if hitting a deep rut, other than that awesome. Some people say that H&R's rear is slightly lower than the front and the drop is minimum. If thats what your looking for go with this set up. For a daily driver plus a family car this setup works great for me. The look is good also. If you want to drop it lower, go with something else.

dog, I spoke with the folks at H&R and was told that there is no need to get aftermarket shock with these springs, so I have been riding for over a year now with stock shocks and these H&R springs, so far so good---car handles better and it is lower, but it is your decision
good luck
