I just installed an FSTB ordered from custommaxima.com.

WOW! Amazing how much difference that one bar makes. Turn-in is solid and crisp. I took it so hard in one corner that I thought the rear would swing out (still waiting to install the RSB). I wouldn't even think twice about taking a hard corner like that before.


The ONLY thing that I don't like about the FSTB is that it made glaringly obvious to me how crappy the Potenzas are. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait...

 

When you put the RSB in...the Potenzas will feel even crappier !!

 

That ruins it for me...

 

Then you'll be STUNNED at the difference the RSB makes. In smooth corners handling is improved about 100%...

what about the ride quality?

 

You mean how is the ride quality post-FSTB installation?

It's excellent - it didn't change. The car still absorbs the road the very same way - it just doesn't lean as much as it used to when you take a corner. I took a few corners last night to see how it would respond and it felt the the rear end would swing out....but I'm putting in the RSB on Wednesday just in time for a 450 mile trek.

I highly recommend these mods - like a totally different car.

 

Actually, I'm a miniority in the respect that I felt the FSTB made more of a difference than the RSB. Don't get me wrong, the RSB was nice, but the FSTB was a HUGE difference.

I finally got my GR-2's to go with my Teins to complete my suspension package. I've got an apt on 7/7/03 with Jeff @ Maximum Tuning to get them intalled I can't wait!!!!

Nah. I've never done it before and I don't have air tools or a spring compressor. Jeff @ Maximum Tuning gave me a price of $150 to do the install and it will only take a couple of hours. I would like to do it myself but if I f#$@ it up I'll regret ever trying.

Well yeah they are the stock all season tire what do you expect
the real potenzas are the pole positions S-03 you wont think potenzas suck after riding on these bad boys

It's only worth the money if you like the looks. Everyone says they do the same thing as the $12 e-bay ones. However, I noticed a HUGE improvement with my BOMZ FSTB. More so than others. Mine is a very sold piece of aluminum (and has got the silverish ends rather than the ugly gold on the Stillen). Don't know if that has anything to do with it but I highly reccomend this one.

 

When did you make your appointment with Jeff? I spoke to him about a week ago and the day I did, I placed an order for my H&R's and GR-2's. The H&R's are in, but the GR-2's (according to the UPS tracking #) is suppose to be in on Monday. Now if I call him on Monday and I have everything ready, would I be able to get him b4 your date, or is he that booked up??

 

I spoke to him earlier this week. I have the Teins and GR-2s on my own and set up an appointment for Monday 7/7/03. I'm not sure if he was free but I figured since it was the holiday week he might not be working all week long. Also, I decided to take Monday off to get it done so he very well could have appointments open. He said the install of my shocks / struts will only take about 2 hours. Give him a call and see what's up.

Oh, also if you've never been there it is a b!tch to find. My buddy and I drove around for 1/2 hour looking for this place!

 

hmmm...........well, the rest of my stuff should be in tomorrow, so I'll call him then. Hopefully he'll have a spot in this week before the holiday weekend.

Jeff's place wasn't too hard to find until I ended up passing it because the actual location of his shop is down a semi-narrow/hidden road. The funny thing is how long Glen Gove Rd stretches up north and as you're driving, you're like "Damn, are we there yet??"
