Now for some serious sound....

Well I've had my Sirius satellite radio system installed for about 2 months now and I was never truly impressed with the quality of the FM modulation coupled with the sh!tty Bose HU....

I finally broke down and bought a Sirius ready Kenwood KDC-MP522 head unit ($250) and that coupled with the Bose adapter sounds fukin AWE-SOME!!!!

I am finally hearing what Bose was meant to sound like. The system overall sounds 10000X better than stock...the highs are high, lows are low....I actually am proud to own a Bose system now.

Oh and yeah, the sirius actually ROCKS!!!! I 1000000% recommend Sirius for all who like to hear music all the time.

Kudos to Polo for hookin up his boy to do my install...it was actually easier than planned. Yes we did have a rough start and a few stumbling blocks, but at least my car isn't a guinea pig like Polo's is

You will need the ROEM-NIS2. and to ground one wire out of the wiring harness to keep your trip computer. If you want steering wheel contlos, you will have to buy another adapter. You can get the ROEM-NIS2 at www.affsave.com fro less than $60 shipped

there are to brown/white wires in the harness....don't snip the wrong one. the wrong one is the - wire to the driver front speaker. again, the guinea pig learned the wrong way.

It's an adapter to connect the OEM Nissan harness into an aftermarket head unit. This way you don't have to splice wires, you just plug everything together. This might help you understand...

Factory setup
Nissan harness --> Back of factory stereo

Aftermarket setup
Nissan harness --> ROEM-NIS2 --> Back of aftermarket stereo

Like maximamaybe said, you need a 2nd adapter if you want to use the steering wheel controls with the aftermarket head unit. You'll also need a trim kit to make the aftermarket head unit fit and look nice.

For the Bose system to really shine, replace the Bose speakers. That will be the best sounding Bose system ever.

It might not look like much, but it takes a pretty sophisticated peice of engineering to integrate a decent stereo with this bose crap. I can't wait until it is all gone.

I think it is time for a new HU! I hardly listen to CD's any more so losing the 6 disc changer would not affect me too much. I don't even know if the tape player works. Never tried it. Sirius has been the only thing that I have listened to for the last 4 months!

Do you really need the adapter to hookup an aftermarket hu, in order to use your Bose speakers? or is this just in case you wanna take the radio out in the future and put the bose back in?(trade-in)
