Can some [ebay] buyers really be this stupid...

As I posted in a thread below, I just bought a BOMZ FSTB on ebay for $12, which is the Buy It Now price. The same seller has others also, but the Buy It Now price is gone because there are bids. One of the bids on one of the auctions is $16. Wtf, would someone bid $16 when the BIN price is $12?

I was in best buy looking for a special PC cable.. it's $27 there with free shipping on their website, or $33 PLUS shipping on ebay.

ebay is cool for what I use it for (and apparently you) but people are f-ing stupid sometimes.

not that I've ever done this
I wonder how many people go buy stuff from Best Buy and list it on ebay and if it doesn't sell at a profit, just return it and get the money back...

*** Hmmm, you may be on to something. I have been caught in a bidding war on ebay before. Thankfully I came to my senses before I spent $30 on a toothpick, or whatever it was.

Yeah, but would you wait 4 days to find out? It's like bartering over a drink with your bartender.

Huh? If I need something right now I go buy it right now, but if I know I'm going to need something (like that cable) then I comparison shop the whole internet and get the best price..ebay, cheapo provider, uzbekistan... whatever's cheapest.

Eh, it's a dummy account of the seller's. He will get rid of the BuyItNow option to hike up the price.

Does anyone have the BOMZ FSTB installed? How is it working for you?
How hard is it to install it?

hehehe...I bid on one the other day, got outbid, and it ended up going for $18.50!
I thought it was so hilarious, this fool "won" it at the last possible second, and I just went to another of the seller's auctions and did Buy It Now for $12. Some people must just want THAT exact one I guess

Here's another example:

http://search.ebay.com/search/search...=valentine+one

Valentineone.com sells this unit for $399, yet people on Ebay bid on open units for about $399 and pay the seller's shipping on top of that. Talk about dumb consumers...

lol all it is, is a resistor. They send u a standard 1 or 2kohm resistor. You unplug the maf sensor wire and stick the resistor into the plug. then tape resistor with electrical tape. its supposed to make the ecu think the engine is receivin cold air which in turn richens up the air/fuel ratio. One question... isn't this bad? cuz the engine isn't really gettin more/cold air. Oh and its a good way to waste gas!

I don't see a brand name, but my polished alum. $12 special just showed up friday
I installed it sat. morning, and it was the EASIEST thing I've ever slapped on - no hassles at all. It was even "adjusted" to pretty much right where it needed to be. As for how it works, well, I can say there seems to be a slight gain but nothing drastic. I figure it can't HURT, though, and it DOES look nice and shiny on there
