Cattman intake

What are people's opinion on the cattman intake? I'm about to put the HKS catback on my car this weekend, but am wondering about the cattman intake. What's the board's opinion about it?
I'm looking at it because i know a fellow org member that has one for his 2k SE and it's very efficient. If u remember, i raced my car back when it was stock against Pioneer with only intake, y-pipe, catback, and his car kept up with mine on the top end. To me, that prooves that his mods are very efficient....

Anyway, here's a link to the product.... http://www.cattman.com/prod_intake.html

And here's a closup pic...

Cold air intakes in general are the better intakes to get.. They provide good low-mid range power. And truely does suck in colder air

It's a rebadged/painted black Place Racing CAI, which is the best and only true CAI that I know of.

Get it!

Yeah, it's the Place Racing CAI. I just don't know how good they are and where do people rank them compared to like Injen, Frankencar and all those. I always hear about those, but never about the cattman/place racing one. Any particular reason?

Injen and Frankencar are NOT cold air intakes.

The reason you don't hear as much about the PR CAI is that you have to drill a hole in your fender next to the battery for the filter. Most people are hesitant to do that. The other intakes are simply bolt-ons.

The hole you drill is no big deal, but Brian hasn't pushed his intake in a long time, letting Injen and Frankendelay get in too much marketing action. I think the Cattman is pretty sweet personally and he is planning on doing some statistical analysis to prove that fact in the future.

So, i'm guessing the org likes the place racing and it seems to be the best for the 5th gen.
Any potential maf problems it may create? Anything u guys recommend i should do before putting that on my 2k3?

Thanx a bunch.

The PR/Cattman design is the best IMO, but a WAI has it's advantages.

Problems? The usual worries about driving through deep puddles of water and your warranty being voided if you take it to the dealer installed or they notice the HOLE in your fender.

Do they sell a PR CAI for the VQ35 now?

Alex, they have a new part # for the VQ35.
Diallo, You drive through the puddle deep enough that the intake is
under water, the engine will hydrolock. Oh yeah, "IF" dealer sees hole under hood they would void warrenty. You already know my story
from southernstates that my car was highly modified and out of warrenty
