Putting in sub/amp.. keep Bose or not?

I have pretty much heard that it's good practice to take out the Bose sub, while leaving the speakers and amp in when adding a sub and amp of your own. I think Kloogy kept his and people have said that it looks good. What are the pros and cons of keeping the little Bose subwoofer?

i left my Bose sub attatched at first, and that didnt work out so well. sounded a lil funny. so definatly disconnect it, and as far as removing it from the car, i was gonna do that soon to see how it sounded (and to remove 10 lbs or whatever from the car )

Remove the sub. THe hole helps more than the sub does.

I know this is an old thread but can I ask, where you got the speaker level outputs in order to wire in your RCA's, I was fumbling around with mine yesterday and couldn't figure it out.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Splice into the speaker wire running to one of your rear speakers and run a wire into a converter that gets it into RCA.

I know its kind of a newb question but was the bose sub an option with the bose system or is it standard with the bose.

And btw^^^^^ the part you will need is a line output converter. It sells for 10 to 15 bucks at best buy/circuit city.
