Need new rubber for my 18's

My Nitto 555's have finally reached their end of life and I'm back in the market for some new tires. I have been running 245/40-18's because the tire diameter most closely matches the orginal equipment size. But when I use the tirerack comparison it tells me to go with 235/40-18's which are somewhat smaller in diameter. What does everyone else suggest?

I'm also interested in trying something new...maybe. I've been happy with my Nitto's, no complaints but now that I have to buy something new, I want to look around. My car is a daily drive and I only run my 18's in the good weather. I have had Avon ZZ1's and liked them, I've also had Yokahama tires on past rides. I may look at the Falken's, and the tire guy I have bought from before keeps pushing me to look at the Sumatoma's and Kumho's (sp?).

Suggestions on best place to buy and lowest prices is always appreciated.

Thanks folks.

Bill

I would stick with 245/40/18's. Wider is better and your Speedo is closer to being correct. From looking around Tire Rack and and Discount Tire Direct almost always have the best prices when compared to everywhere else(between the two they each have lower prices of different tires).

Good Luck Shopping...

Don't get Kuhmos or Sumimotos. Falkens or Nittos are much better tires.
