best brand tires

looking for a good brand of tires that not only look good, but handle nice and are good for miles. I don't want to pay alot of money every other month for new tires because the tread is worn. So I guess the question is which brand tire gives you good handle, performance, and good miles for your money?

The best is Michelin Pilot Sports. I like my Kumho MX tires. Other good brands are Yokohama, BF Goodwrench, Nitto, Falken.

Toyos are really good too. The FZ4s are a great all season, and the T1-s are awesome!

Check out Dunlop SP A2 and Bridgestone RE 950. Both come with milage warranty from manufacturer. The bridgestone costs a little more but is a superior tire. You can buy the Bridgestones from Costco and save some $$$. I am running both on my cars, the Bridgestone is awesome and comes with a 45k milage warranty.

I love my nitto 555s. They seem to be lasting much longer than those potenzas and they have fantastic grip in any weather

Hehe... its funny you mention Toyos. I read all these posts a/b how much Potenzas suck but my car came from the factory w/ Toyos on it. They wore out after about 15k miles (had to replace them at 20K). I replaced them w/ Potenzas (before reading the board) and w/ 10k+ miles they look pristine. I guess the quality of the tires from the factory are just lower than the after market versions. Sorry for the OT.

My 2K max came with toyos. They were nice, however, the compound seemed way to soft. I went with the RE950's (H rated). With a treadware of 400, its definately better then the high performance Z rated tire.

I have Sumitomo HTR + and they have held up to the miles very well. They have good grip and feel to them to. The only draw back is the tread design isn't very exciting. You can get them real cheap at the tire rack.

I bought a set of Dunlop Sp-Sport A2's, but never got the chance to mount them because I ended up selling my '95. If you're interested, born001, I have them up for sale on ebay for $225.00 for all 4.

Put these in 215 and they rock the Potenza's. Though the RE950 is the rocks. Just put a 2nd pair of tires bought from Costco (Michelin's on the Pathfinder) - fantastic price and balancing, very good service.
