Different type of intake question.
After you have installed you intake (CAI OR WAI) I've nopticed on posted pictures that people leave the stock intake that attaches to the frame right under the hood.
Do you take it off and put a gasket there? Could you direct that cool air somewhere else? I thought if you have a WAI you could use some type of hosing and push the air that way. Just looking for ideas about what y'all have done to yours. Thanks

I don't remember his name, but another org member did something similar to what you are talking about. He had either a Stillen or Frankencar intake and he left the stock air scoop on. He said he bought some flex tubing from Home Depot and directed the air towards the cone filter.

this is what i did.
there are two openings on the part of the scoop closest to the intake. one is where the stock box used to be. the other goes down and hooks onto a white plastic box which is to "muffle the sound so the car is quieter". i took off the plastic box all together and used heavy duty plastic to cover that hole. so now all the air goes out the other hole which is inches away from the intake.

I was considering a Frankencar intake and redirecting the "ram" to the cone. I live in PA, it doesn't get to hot here but it can get COLD and worry about a CAI in the winter. I know that there is a valve that circulates coolant through the TB in cold temps, but like the Frankencar set up. Wasn't Frankencar working on a heat shield??? Not much on there site.
