Grille Tech Customer Service

Am I the only person having problems with Grille Tech? My cousin ordered one of the their grills for me over a month ago. They took his money and we are still waiting for the grills to show up. They claim they are experiencing some problems with back orders. Well, hell then say so on the web site!!!
Anyone else having similar issues with them?

It took me a month or more to get my lower inserts. They refunded my shipping so my total cost for the grilles was less than $30 shipped. Since they were my only option, I waited.

Cause it made of mild steel, I dont know why they arnt making them out of alumimum? Not aluminized steel, they should be able to cut them from pure alloy around the same or sligghtly higher cost.

Try winning a bid on e-bay for the item and having to wait 30 days for it because it is on backorder. Why would e-bay let you sell something that YOU DONT HAVE. If anyone wants to buy one you can since I didn't like the way it was going to look on my car.

Clear coat will only hold up for tops 6months. After that you going to be in the same boat as others.

Very strange. I order my grille online on 6/30. They confirmed shipping on 7/9. And I just received it yesterday, 7/15. Actually, now that i think about it...hat's kinda long. i have a 2k1AE. Could be that 2k2 and 2k3 are popular and they can't keep up. BUT as a business they should have the courtesy to inform you guys.

THE GRILLE IS RUSTING?!! I live in Hawaii and the salt water spray is murder on the car. Don't live by the beach, but we have a lot of moisture. I guess I'll take to a place where they can apply rust proofing. That will kinda help a little.

Even if you put the miserable customer service and shipping times aside, the fact that they can't seem to make a grille that doesn't rust is enough to make me stay away from them. I wish someone would step up and make a quality mesh grille that uses the OEM screw holes for the 2k2-2k3. Even if it cost more than the grille-tech I'm sure alot of people would buy it for the quality and peace of mind. I'd pay double for it and not think twice.

I bought the lower and upper grills from them about 45 days ago. It took them 30 days just to ship out my grills. On top of that, they ship them in a very thin box, as thin as the grill itself, so by the time I received the grill they were bent! The shiny metal now shows a permanent indentation and it's very obvious when you see from a distance. I am just ****ed off about that. Also, what kind of installation system is this, they gave me plasic zip ties to install the grill, if you look closely the upper grill shows the zip ties from outside!

I just installed my grills about 15 days ago so I don't know about the rust problem yet... can you put clear coat every 4 months to avoid the rust? I live in Buffalo, NY so my car will be soaking in ice cold snow for atleast 6 months every year!

This is exactly why I stayed away from Grill Tech. So many people have had rust on them. How hard is it to make a grill that doesn't rust? I mean come on this is 2003!

Also, the zip tie thing is rediculous. I asked them if they have hooks on the back end so you don't see them and they said no. All this for $60?

In the instructions they say you have to take it off and wax it. Really? Does it come with 1000 zip ties?

Wax it? you gotta be kidding me? Wax mild steal? Why not just spray some WD40 or some oil on it to keep it from rusting instead of waxing it? That is rediculous

FYI... Bag of 1000 zip ties runs about $19.99 at your local computer store

Actually, I had a set of the fake aluminum-look lower grille covers that rusted out pretty bad (I live in Chicago). Now I am trying the black powdercoated model praying to god that they won't rust!

Might not have been the best way to spend $120 (on grille covers) but I guess I'm an optimist and believe that when companies make a product-- it should be a quality one at that!

I find the zip ties to be fine, since I can remove it without damaging what was originally on there. All the 2k2-3 grilles attach that way. If you have a 2k-2k1 you have to cut your OEM to install. My issue is the QUALITY of the material... Hideous !

Does anyone know if the Street Scenes grills have the same rusting problems that the grille-tech ones do? Not that it matters much...I have a 2k3 so I can't get the Street Scenes anyway. But they are sweet.
