Fun night: 4th Gen Max, Riced out civic, Lexus GS300 all taken out

went to the beach with my buddy and we encountered a few cars for Max to play with. The civic was hilarious... bright yellow hatchback with the fartcan, body kit, you know the deal. did like a 20-50 twice and he got owned (surprise surprise). then comin back this lexus GS300 cut me off in traffic, then when things opened back up to 3 lanes we both hit it and i just kept pullin from 10-100 or so where i shut down. he tried again once he caught up with the same results. wish it had been the GS400... woulda been much more interesting. oh well. And finally, i get back to my town, cruisin up the main road (2 lanes each direction) and come up on a 4th gen Max with a couple kids in it. did roll from around 30-60 and i pulled nicely on him. then got to a red light and we did the 0-60ish run... had about 6 car lengths on him when we shut down. kinda unfair tho cause i was alone at this point and he had 4 peeps... but its aight, he was cool about it. so ya, another sucessful night for my Max

nice kills. a GS400 would have likely wasted ya. they're a good match for a 2k2/2k3 6 speed.

Which is it? Are they a good match, or would they waste a Maxima?

the 5 speed max could have been somewhat close, had he not been overloaded. its all in good fun. as much as i like the fair, even matched races, its always fun to put a riced out civic owner in his place too best part bout this guy was how he put his flashers on after i smoked him as if he had won??? confused me.

Racing riced out civics is the best. Even though I know they're slow they think they're badass and they have quick cars. Its too much fun dusting them when they're showing off for their friends, or better yet their girls

Much worth the extra gas in my opinion, especially since normal driving can keep up with most of them

:

I'll bet the AMG/M/S crowd thinks the same thing when they dust some badass in a riced out Maxima.

Yeah GS430 is pretty fast, I ran one a while ago on the highway. We started from like 70 upto 120 and I gained like 2 cars on him and as the speed went up I pretty much stopped gaining. They pretty fast boats.

No way you'd take a GS430/400 on the hwy. They OWNZ most anything at those speeds.

He was playing with you.

Definitely.. I highly doubt you'd be able to pull 2+ cars on a gs430/400.. It'll be really close. Unless you are boosted

actually the only way to do this would be from 0 to 60ish...get a good launch....then 2 car lengths might be possible....hwy...no way....

Are you saying a Maxima will pull on a GS4 by 60ish mph? A GS4 = sub 6-sec. 0-60 vs. a 6spd Max low-to-mid 6-secs..

Sorry, but the GS4 will OWN a Maxima 0-60, 1/4-mile, and DEFINITELY on the hwy. No ifs and or buts.

And a Ferrari/Porsche will eat those any day of the week, but the difference is I don't act like my max is the hottest **** and try to race them like ricers in their civics with 120hp, 18" spoilers, and NOS stickers.

yes that exactly what i meant.....freaking those things are so freaking heavy which is not even funny....i raced my friends GS 430 so many times....u think i don't know the result....local from 0-60ish....i either beat him by a car....or dead even with him....so wut he has more hp and tq....it's all about the hp/Weight Ratio man....

Stats...i don't care about stats...It's all depend on reaction time, driver skills and a good launch....

You just have a high ego thinking that your maxima can kill every car out there. I suppose you can kill a twin turbo supra??

grammar is your friend. and the weight/hp ratio says you loose. besides aren't you an auto? and why would anyone want to race a gs series you don't race one you cruise in them.

I ran a gs400 on the HighWay with 3 pass. he had gotten the jump and pulled a half a car and then as the speeds went up I pulled on him and he shut down. Your car has to be a factory freak to pull 2 cars on the 430.

GS400/430 are fast as hell stock.... its very unlikely that you would be able to pull on one of those.....

GS 430:
- 4.3-liter, four-cam, 32-valve 90° V8 engine. Certified Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (U-LEV)
- 300 hp @ 5,600 rpm, 325 lb-ft @ 3,400 rpm torque
- Continuously Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i)
- 0 to 60 in 5.8 seconds [1]
- Top track speed: 149 mph (electronically limited) [1]

Well lets just say, I don't buy that. Your friend needs to learn how to turn OFF the traction control or stop giving you a head start. Otherwise, it would rape you.

Stats...i don't care about stats...It's all depend on reaction time, driver skills and a good launch....
I have a friend with a GS4 and it has taken MUCH faster cars because all you do is mash the gas. As long as your friend has a somewhat decent reaction time, you'll get raped.

Maybe I have a factory freak. But what I was saying when I raced GS430 a while ago he was 3-4 cars behind me going in the fast lane when I downshifted to 4th and started going so he started after me. By 120 he was still 2-3 cars behind, couldn't really tell. I was just happy to be ahead and that he couldn't pass me that easily. Maybe I didn't exactly pull on him, but he didn't exactly gain on me either.
I think some other member here ran his stock 6-speed against GS400 and it was pretty even.
I have seen range from low to high 14s times for 1/4ml for GS400/430. I don't think it is unresonable for 6-speed Max to run with them.

So now you're saying HE GAINED 1-2 cars on YOU from 70-120mph? That's more like what I'd expect. He'd pull on you, but it would be a good run.

Thesethese "races" are pretty ghey.
There's too many factors to say which is the faster car. Getting the jump on car that's behind you doesn't mean your car is faster.

Take it to a drag strip and then tell me which is really faster.

Dude you really like to point out some things people say right.
When somebody behind you going fast it is very hard to tell how many cars they behind you for sure. He might have been closer/farther to me but who cares. The bottom line is he wanted to pass me flashing his lights and all and he couldn't. I know those cars are fast but 6-speed Max can run with them no problem.

So I still call ...too many inconsistancies. I'm not saying it didn't happen, however you can't be sure about who did what. He could have gained on you, you could have gained on him, he could have said the jackarse was doing 70mph and now he wants to go 100+...ok I'll let him get the ticket while I shadow him. I do that ALL THE TIME. Who knows, since you apparently couldn't tell. Just don't change your story mid thread, because it confuses feable minds like myself.

I still say a GS4 would pull you and there is NO WAY IN HELL would you pull him at those speeds ESPECIALLY 2-car lengths.

Sorry that I confused you. But that guy was definetly going for it, he just thought he will be able to gain on me that easily(which he didn't). I moved over to the right lane and slowed down after we reached 120 and he did a fly by to show how mighty his boat is and continued on going.

The only roll-on race I might believe is 2 cars lining up next to each other and signaling each when to punch it. Trying to eliminate as many inconsistencies as possible.

Well I guess there to many variables that could change the outcome of a race from a roll. He could have had some fat people in the and you could have had the momentum.

I guess what some are trying to say is 99% of the time you will lose to a G430. You were perhaps the 1%. Good run anyway. Drive safe.
