yo YJ, i think those lights are nice.. i can picture them goin off at night, i see madness i tell ya! hehe
trying not to bring old matters up i think it was reallly stupid for that mobey or whatever the heck his name was to bash your car. i think it looks good, and hey i like to rice my car up to. when i am donw with some more mods, i shall take pics and try to post them. so wait in da future for my pics!

hey thanks a lot man...i am i am guessing like the youngest person in this forum... i am supprisingly 17 years old!!!but my opinions are just as important as others! i dunno if anyone is younger, but yeah i am 17... my parents own de maxima now, but when i move out i am getting it, so i have already started to mod it bit with the little money me gots... haha but later on, i shall mod it up more, plus i am going to buy a superbike when i am older! cant wait! haha hope no one thinke little of me now that lots of pple know how young i am now...

the OOGLIE i want really bad..the lights, I'd probably buy a set to amuse myself and my kids around Christmas in a cheesie yet funny kinda way..the NINJA body kit..It looks God awful..hope nobody is offended..thats my opinion...please no bullet hole reprisals!!!!!!!!!!

LeoB...hope you are not offended when i say you have bad taste...don't mean to take this personally, but i love it and so does everyone else...how old are you? even the 50year old gas station attendant at the gas station i go to liked it...you are welcome to your opinion and i am welcome to mine...so i'm guessing you hate every honda you see w/ a body kit because this looks fairly similar to some honda kits...its just a matter of taste and opinion

LeoB, sorry if that sounded rude in the last post, but i found your last post a little rude...you could have put it a little nicer rather than saying it looks god awful...i like the kit because it accents the lines of the car and makes it look very aggressive...my parents don't like it becasue they are old and they don't understand the "point" in customizing cars or doing anything to cars...they buy cars for the cars length and sometimes for resale value...they never buy cars for fun...cars are made to be fun and the whole point in customizing cars is just like decorating a house...making it fit ones personality and making it be how they want it to be

anyways, i don't like this topic anymore so can we end it? 6 pages on some lights that some people like and some people don't is too much...

 

I'm not at all offended. In fact, I really like the artistic interpretation you have given you'r mod with the sunlight coming down and hitting the engine and car. If that's not foto-shop stuff then your a great photographer..well..even if it's photo shopped, then your a great photoshopper..I looks like the real thing however. wish i could get shots like that with my Leica!
I'm glad you took no offense either, and maybe, in real life looking at your car might make a way better impression on me than perhaps the foto does the mod justice. The first time I saw the Ninja kit advertized in a car Mag, I had the same reaction..UGH
I love the looks of the Stillen body kit, from what I have seen of it in Pics. Have never seen one in real life. Who knows, if/when i order it, sight unseen, other than pics, there's always the chance I might be disappointed with it too once it's actually on the car. I guess thats just the way things go with cosmetic mods. I guess breast implants kinda work the same way!!!!!!
I kept my 1992 Si stock..no cosmetic stuff at all.
I'm not so sure that one's personal tastes are simply defined by ones age. Some of the pics on this site that my teen daughters happen to see, (the cosmetic stuff)..they just shrivel and yell "oh my God"!!

I'm glad that you are getting a LOT of good feedback on the kit. In fact, until I began reading this thread, I thought I was the ONLY one who didnt like the Ninja kit..I was petrified to even express my opinion about it, till I noticed ONE other person here mention they didnt like it. Glad to see you can accept others' opinions.

Here's my opinion. ANYTHING with "Type R" name (other than the Honda line) is COMPLETE RICE in my eyes. All this "Type R" and "R" stuff is so played out. Riceboys have a amazing way of taking EVERYTHING way too far. I remember it all starting with the Supra TT. You know, the big wing and a big single outlet tip. It all went to hell from there.

IMO, the dash lights are rice. Altezza lights, a car slammed to the ground, muffler tips 1" bigger than the outlet pipe, blue corning lights, neon in the car, big wings, "Ninja" and "Shogun" bodykits, fake HIDs, etc etc ALL rice in my eyes. And those DAMN stuffed animals riding shotgun!!!! What the hell is up with that??

I was recently looking for a certain brand of caliper paint , and happened to end up at a German website selling car parts. They were featuring interior black lights with accompanying white skeletons, skulls, ghosts, etc, on suction cups that you could hang in your windows. Imagine those in your Porsche, BMW, or Mercedes driving down the autobahn at night. From this context, I've come to the conclusion that it's unfair to typify bad taste in terms of ethnic origins, ie: the term Rice. From the crap I saw on this German website, it's obvious that bad taste is CROSSCULTURAL..or in plain old ethnically unoffensive terms, just plain CHEESY!!
