Dimming the clock
Has anyone noticed that the clock doesn't dim with the rest of the interior lights when you change the brightness?
It seems to only have two levels which is controlled by whether the headlights are on or not.
It's kinda annoying... just want to make sure it's not just a problem with mine. Anyone else notice this on their Max?

Notice this ???
Yes - I did that long back....
It doesn't do that - not a problem with yours....
Some of the good things in american sedans - most GM cars dim the clock....but their clock is up with the stereo display...not like Max...maybe thats why !!
Also notice something else....the power locks/windows switch for the driver and passenger have a small light (or a streak) in them -- they dont Dim away either...
I've rented a lot of GM's ... these also dim in those !!!
I've gotten used to it ;( no other way

ye i hate it that it dims with the lights.. u cant see it in the day... what u can do is cut the wire that comes from the lights and add the other wire to both contacts... this way it will always be in bright position...
Aiight ...
Psing23 and xydavid ... they both know what I'm talking about!!!!
I turn on my Headlights at DUSK, why?? Cuz I don't want anyone slamming into me when they got the SUN in there eyes after a long day of work!!
And it pisses me off that the Clock dims and I can't see crap!!!
PSING: Does what U mentioned actually Work??? have ya tried it????

i havent done it yet... but i dont see why it shouldnt work... i would do it just i dont have a reason to take my dash board apart yet... as soon as i will have to do it for something else i will make sure to do that... but im like 99.9% confident taht it will work.. because there has 2 be like 4 wires coming to it one that is constant power, one that is on when engine goes on, and one that gives it power when lights go on and a negative so if u take the one that goes on when engine goes on and put it instead of the one where the lights go on then it will always be bright... and i keep my dash in the brightest position at night (when u put the lights on the radio doesnt get darker) so i wouldnt see a difference...
