Hello everyone,
After looking for three weeks for a 2003 SE, I gave up when I was presented with a great deal for a beautiful 2003 GLE...and bought it yesterday.

What are the differences in the suspension between the GLE and SE (springs, shocks, sway bars, etc.) I KNOW this car can handle like the overpriced SE that I fell in love with. Or, if anyone has a different route, I would be interested in any advice.

Thanks!

Welcome to the GLE club. Now you'll never have to post any of the following questions:

Is it possible to install auto climate control?
How expensive is it to add leather seating?
Is it possible to get a sun visor with homelink?
Where can I buy chrome door handles inside and out?
How difficult is it to replace my interior trim with that nice GLE woodgrain?

Perhaps you missed my point. Whereas the first three items are available on any SE many SE’s don’t come with them. On GLE’s they’re standard equipment. Furthermore, I’ve read many threads from SE owners who, upon reflection, now want them. JMF will never have that problem.

OK, let's try to keep this thread on track. I'm happy with the option loadout. What I want to know is what suspension components are different between the GLE and the SE. Any experts out there?

First off- welcome newbie! As far as I know
1. the wheels are slightly heavie on the gle
2. tire size is taller SE=225/50 R17 - GLE 215/55 R17
3. Springs are softer(bouncier)
4. The may carry same strut/shocks

Manny,
Thanks for the info. I'm curious about the shocks...it sounds like they may be a key player here. Anyone else?
