Information on Lemon Law

Does any one here know if the lemon law covers used cars. I bought my car with 25,000 miles on it and it now has 31,000 miles on it. It has been at the dealer for over a month (5 weeks to be exact), with engine trouble. In DC the lemon law says if the manufacturer can't correct the problem in 3 attempts or the vehicle is out of service for 30 days, then the manufacturer has to replace the car or buy back the car. But it also says in the first 18,000 miles or first 2 years, whichever comes first. Im not in the first 18,000 miles of the vehicle. But I have only had the car for 4 months, 1 of which the dealer has had it. Please help. Thank you.
Any information from lawyers or dealers most welcome.

Wouldn't it be the first 18k miles that YOU have owned it? If not, then you SHOULD qualify for the 30 day out of service clause.

I think it varies state to state. Try here...

You are not covered. It applies to the 1st 18K miles of the car's life. End of story. However, you may be able to pursue other remedies. Im a lawyer but not in your jurisdiction. Still Lemon laws are generally the same and Ive handled a couple of those cases.
