first of all, i didn't even realize i had an alarm. one day i had my windows down roof open, and i hit my door lock on my key fob. yeah, i know.....stupid.

anyway, when i came back to the car i just reached in and unlocked the door manually, opened the door and the alar went off.

i tried to duplicate it, but it didn't go off. then it happened again the other day. once again, i know...stupid.

anyhoo, how long before the alarm activates?

 

approx 30 sec. for the 02, should be about the same for yours.OK say 30 sec after you arm it or when the light starts blinking.

Yesterday I was going fishing with my brother in his truck. I decided I needed my sunglasses, which were in my center console. So, I unlock all of the doors using the remote. I open the passenger side door, open the center console lid, and hear the alarm go off! I didn't know what the hell was going on. To make it even more strange, the alarm wouldn't turn off from putting the key in the door lock. Usually it does. I had to put the key in the ignition and turn it to "on".
Strange...
