Yes... its probably safe to say that most of us here have had problems with it. Do a search for "MAF" to learn more.
When my maf went out the car died on the spot. It would only run for a few seconds when cranked. If you have one go out contact DAVEB,888-254-6060, and he'll give you a good price on a new one.
