What does your state's inspection include? That will determine what changes you have to make.

Take off the obvious stuff and put the stock stuff back on... or you can drive to a smog station and hope they won't ask you about the mods.

No need to remove the y pipe unless they raise your car... Jane passed with flying colors!

I highly doubt a y-pipe would be noticed on inspection. Has anyone had an inspection where they would notice a Y-pipe?

congrats to her! so it doesnt let any thing through the system that their computer wont detect? i mean the y-pipe is "safe" for the environment for their sake?

Passing smog was not a problem... but the visual on the other hand is hard.

If the techs don't know what to look for, then there should be no problems with the y pipe. The y pipe is not "safe" for the environment because a cat is gone (in her case, two cats), but a non-Nissan savy tech won't know it's missing.

Correct me if I am wrong, but a Y-pipe will only cause you to fail emissions testing if your engine is cold. The stock pipe has a pre-cat that is used to cut down on emissions when you start off. Once you have a warm engine, the only thing that matters is the real cat.

Just did mine

i paid $10 for the inspection
but i replaced the front windsheild before(hit by a little rock and has a crack on it) i paid $220 from an auto glass shop,(not from dealer)
when i brought in my car to the inspection station, they checked my brake pads and they told me i had to change the brake pads front and rear..they charged me $220 for 4 pads(parts from nissan) good deal? but i didn't do it.
my car has 20150 miles on it...damn..too much for one year
they did nothing to my car, no check my light bulbs, brake lights...etc....just scan my bar code from my registion and but back the new inspection sticker, that's all..(didn't check the exhast!)
ten dollars and that's it...

I think that Inspection could be illegal
That is not a way to inspect a car
Over here in Mass. they charge 29 dollars for Inspection
