HEY...PPLZ...WAT DO U GUYS THINK ABOUT PUTTING THIS CD HEAD UNIT IN A 2002 MAXIMA...."SONY CDX-MP70"??!!
ANY COMMENT OR ANY OTHER SUGGESTION?!

Dont go with Sony as a HU its going to eventually give you problems, spend your money wisely.

 

I used to work at Circuit City and we used to sell that unit. Nothing but problems with it especially down the road. The motor for the cd tray goes bad, the lcd goes bad etc. If you do get it, make sure you get some sort of warranty on it. I would recommend an Alpine unit like the CDA-7897.

 

I work at circuit city now and all i can say is sony is not the way to go. Terrible sound quality when compared to a good alpine unit. Apline might not have the flashiest looks but it will definetly perform the best.

I work inside best Buy and sony headunits in general just keep coming back and getting returned. If you do buy from Circuit, Best Buy, Fry's, whatever, get the stores warranty plan. You may have to pay like $40.00 bucks extra for like 2 or 3 years, but in the long run if anything happens to your headunit they will replace for a new one.

 

i work at best buy also, and for most things the warranty service is a rip off, but there are a few things that its really important....including headunits, i am a big time fan of eclipse headunits, and of course alpines and clarions are great too

 

PSPs are for the numbers man!!! geez... sell more PSPs and you don't have to clean the HUB! j/k yeah you are right though, PSP's are really lame on some stuff. But I figure the more expensive the item is, the more reason to get the PSP

Other than that I can't comment on the Sony. I just installed a Pioneer DEH-P750 and am happy with it.
