injen intake...

Hi all,

Just wanted to pose a few questions since the search is down. I'm finally beginning to consider engine mods for my 2k2 se 6spd and wanted your advice and comments.

Where can I get a very good deal on an Injen intake? (cheapest place with reliable service...)

Would I have to do any funky ecu resetting or the like once it's installed?

Has anyone encountered the infamous MAF problems with the injen setup?

I went to one of Injen's links (nippon power of florida) and it was listed for $260.

Thanks...

One more question...Is this Injen setup prone to suck up water if there happens to be a deep puddle of water in my path of travel?

From what I hear, splash is not a problem
Where I live in north phoenix there are hundreds of small washes
that fill up with a$$loads of water during rainy seasons, like the monsoons
I am currently devising a system for removing the Injen down pipe and replacing it with a cone air filter by use of a quick clamp so this will not happen
Submersion would definitely pose a problem though
I do believe they make shield for the Injen so it will deflect ~60-90 percent of the splash
Just don’t wade through more then 12 inches of water
There is also some sort of anti siphon valve I’m hearing about so it won’t suck up water, but I believe your car would still stall from lack of air

I put an Injen on my 2K2 6 speed about 4 weeks ago. Got it from Adventon. I disconnected the negative battery terminal for over 24 hours. This may or may not help with a 'reset' of the ECU, but I figured it couldn't hurt.

My MAF has not failed....not to say there may not be problems later...man, I hope not. I have the 'good' one (22680-AM600).

I'm not too worried about water in the intake. It would have to be some pretty deep stuff to submerge the filter.
