FSTB install....am I an idiot or is this screwed up?

Maybe it's just me...or maybe custommaxima.com screwed up...i dont know (i mean they sent me 4 rear left-side clears instead of 2 for the front and 2 for the back...) -- i'm trying to install the FSTB they sent me...the bracket goes on fine on the one side but on the other there's no way the hole will go over the bolt...there's about an inch difference between where the bolt is and where the hole is...i've tried taking the brackets off the bar and placing them on, etc...to no avail...tried it with the logo on the bar backwards, forwards, upsidedown, sideways, etc....i even took some pictures to illustrate my point....am i doing something wrong here? much rather be embarassed about that than have to go through shipping this thing back to custommaxima (along with the erroneous clears) -- can't say too much bad because they got my parts to me the next day but....someone let me know if this thing is f'd or if i'm just a moron

I just went out and looked at mine. From what i can tell your brackets should not look the same. There's a left one and a right one. I think you have duplicates of one or the other. It looks like you have 2 right brackets. BTW....i'm no expert , but this way they are on mine (2 different brackets/with different offsets).

Ahah, so this is a valid reason NOT to go cheap and buy the CustomMaxima FSTB (or progress rear sway bar from them, for that matter...)
CustomMaxima drops the ball on common sense I guess?

A valid reason NOT to go cheap? After the 400 threads on this board that reccommend going cheap because it's 'just a piece of metal?' -- Maybe I'm a bit confused on that...errr

Anyway, Bob, thank you for going out to look at yours to check...I'll call them and see if they can send me a new bracket instead of a whole new bar...thank you!

I don't think that it has anything to do with "going cheap". They probably sell hundreds of these a year. It's possible that they send one out where the parts have gotten mixed up. It happens anywhere at some point in any industry.

I'm sure that they will "right the wrong".

I'm sure of that too, I'm in no way faulting custommaxima.com for this piece being incorrect, as it was still sealed etc. - the company who makes these for them (Brant Motorsports? according to the faint outline on the box) is who I would fault. Their service for me has been excellent so I am sure on Monday I'll have no problem getting a new bracket or brace....now as for those clears, now THAT they screwed up

Thanks again
