the only reason i say the 6 speed is because the auto price is ridiculously high.

Even though the 2k2 is at a dealer (dodge) I am a little worried that the
car has been beaten. It has newer kuhmo(spelling) tires, a front strut bar, greddy catback exhaust. I don't know, I just am a little nervous. The car does appear to be well taken care of.

dont judge a book by its cover. 32k for a 2k2 is alot regardless of what kind of driving.

im not arguing that. the fact is 32k is not an "average" amout of miles on a car that new. i mean yeah it will run fine, but when you buy it its gonna have 32k on it which means the warranty is almost gone . he says the powertrain warranty is till 80k, well i believe the standard is like what50k? the vq "should" not blow up even at 80k so imo thats a useless warranty.

The powertrain is 50K, I did not know that, I thought the warranty
just went to 36K, so the sale person was making a deal for an
additional 45K.

What is vq ? sorry (newbie)

Does the Max have a check engine light or does it read
service engine soon ? Cause SES light is on.

Not really, if i drove the average # of miles on my Max since i bought it i'd put that amount of miles on it easily.

e.g: Take 15k miles/yr (fairly common in Houston, i'd say this is even more of the low-end of the scale) in 2 years that's already 30k.

I've had my 2002 since August 2001 and have 29k miles on it

The VQ is the engine name for Maximas.

I bought a brand new 2K3 without an extended warranty for ~24.5K out the door, so about 22K before taxes, license, etc. The deal on the 2K3 that you are looking at is a bad one.

32K is nothing.. it has an extended warranty til 80K. If the car has been beater when driven, parts will fail within the 80K warranty so dont sweat it, you are covered. Go for the 6spd

OK, dealer dropped the 2k2 to 17000.

Question, How long is the factory powertrain
warranty, is it 5 50 ?

I think I want this car.

Go for the 2k2. Thats what I have and with the 6 and it rocks. My SES light is on too and the dealer checked it and said they could not find anything wrong with it and it runs fine so...
get it and enjoy.

The factory warranty is 3 year/36,000 miles "bumper to bumper", and 5 year/60,000 miles powertrain coverage. Got this right out of the sales brochure.

About a half hour before I was to pick up the 2k2
the dealer called, they want me to pick up the car tommorrow.

The SES light was on when I was test driving but the
car ran like a top.

Should I just let this go or make a big issue to the dealer ?
