Has anyone had this TSB done? Has anyone with an 03 had this done? Will this damage anything if it is not done?

NTB03-060 2002 All Rattle Noise During Cold Start

IMO it will be a pain in the a$$ to get it done. If you read the TSB, it tells the tech that the side the noise came from has to be identified. In my case, the noise only happens in about 1 of every 10 cold starts so getting the dealer to diagnose this will be a chore. Additionally, I really don't like the idea of a dealer ripping into my engine if nothing is really wrong. I think its annoyance more that anything,and if i'm wrong there's 60k mi of warranty to back me up.

Even though the TSB says 2002 only, look at the PRODUCTION DATES for Maxima and Altima and it is VERY CLEAR the TSB SHOULD have said 2003's ALSO! I wonder how long it will take Nissan to correct the TSB?

Thank for the help. I felt the same way about having the dealer take the engine apart. I just wanted to make sure that failure to complete the TSB would not result in future damage.
