Dyno - install - dyno (same day, same settings, same dyno) $840 with no "third party" dynos is a lil crazy. The minimal amount for the dyno charges will be worth its weight in platinum if these put down good numbers.

$900 is a lot for something with no proven numbers.

Wow, and I just posted something makin a comment about how the headers will probly never be available. This is exciting, especially if they put down some good numbers! I think I just picked out my Christmas present $840 is up there, but hopefully it'll prove to be worth it.
What kind of work will be involved in the installation??? I've looked for a way to slip the manifold out, but cant figure a way without pulling some stuff out of the engine bay. Any ideas???

All the preliminary dyno testing that has been done on these headers has shown a 25-30 hp gain at the wheels.

Guys....guys.

This is an opportunity to be a PIONEER! First, to have them installed and dyno wins the .orgY brownie points. We do NOT have Honduuuuhs, so don't expect dynos with everything you buy. You guys don't have many power adder choices, so you'll eventually have to buy them once you buy everything else. Nobody, except HS will probably ever make these, so you're screwed.

Stillen DOES NOT MAKE CRAP! Buy it and you will have gains, but is it worth the $tealin price...if you have to ask, it's probably not worth it to you.

I'm betting <5hp, if it's just shorty headers on a NA car.

MY QUESTIONS:
1)Are these shorty headers or does it include the Y-pipe?
2)Why in the hell don't these also fit a VQ30?
3)What about the 2K2+ AERO lip?
4)Why is Steve so ?

'preliminary' testing is different than hard core results

that's like the 'preliminary' test results that said you "didn't" have cancer...

The dyno sheets should be available very soon. I will post those as well as soon as they become available. The numbers I posted are from Stillen directly.

betting less than 5 hp? that seems kinda low... seem to recall NA spec V's gaining over 10 hp to the wheels with the installation of HS headers, but then again it is a different engine. I won't be handin out my $900 before dyno's, but its nice to know there is another performance part available

Steve, lets do our own dyno with these on my car. The only problem is that i'm an auto. Shouldn't take to long, just a pain installing them. If they prove to be worth it than I will probably buy.

$840 for only 5HP gain?

I'd rather pay $20 for my ORG sticker and get a 5HP gain! Oh, and my "Nismo" valve stem caps give me a 5HP gain as well!

1. These headers do include the Y-pipe, see link I posted above.
2. These are only for the VQ35.
3. Still no word on the aero lip
4.

Edit: These headers will put out much more than a 5 hp gain.

You guys are going to pay $840 for headers and then another $840 in aggravation getting the exhaust manifolds off.

Others have bored out the stock manifolds and tried NZ shorty headers with minimal if any gains.

Now that I've seen that it's a long-tube header that APPEARS to be equal length runners, I'd GUESS 15-17whp max NA.

But that's just for the manifolds. This is back to the cat.

The cat would probably need tweaking, but shouldn't be too far off, right?

I have a couple questions for you guys:

1) Is this a worthwhile mod for automatics or is it meant more for manuals? The reason I ask is that GoldMember said, "The only problem is that i'm an auto."

2) Aside from the $840 for the parts themselves, what would I be looking at to have them installed? Ballpark figure.

Thanks.

$tealin telling some schmuck on the 1-800-waste-my-time is going to get that, but Steve's an authorized retailer. I *HOPE* they don't feed them the same BS.

The headers have been completed and right now are being coated, hence the 2 weeks. These will begin shipping out on the 27th.

1)Yes. It's difficult to dyno autos and get good dyno graphs, because it kicks down a gear(s).
2)Few hundred AT LEAST.

Based on the pictures on your site, there are no pre-cats in the headers but there are holes for the O2 sensors. How will the SES light be taken care of when the ECU sees no precats?

According to Stillen, since all the O2 sensors will still be in place the ECU should not throw an SES light.
