Possible Cams for VQ30DE

I e-mailed Crower Cams since on there website said that they can take a factory set of cams and make regrinds to give more HP. This is what they wrote back.

Regrind only on your stock core(s). Specs are typically 10-15 degrees more duration and .010-.015 more lift over stock. Typical HP gains are 5-15 with emphasis on top end power. Typical leadtimes are 1 week in the shop + return shipping. Cost is $78 per cam.

If anybody is interested all you have to do is take yours out and send them to them.

Sorry but this info is a

Nealoc, Mardigrasmax and I have discussed this. Crower lists that they only take 5 thousandths off stock cams for a regrind. Not enough to make it worth your while at $78 per cam (the website said more).

5-15 horses. sorry, i'm not going to rip apart my engine and be without wheels for a week for a LIKELY 5 horses. you'd knock off more time by taking your spare out of your trunk or waxing your car.

How do you add duration and lift to a stock cam by re-grinding it? Maybe I'm being a little dumb, but wouldn't that require adding material to the cam?

Or would they re-grind then require you to use much larger shims on the lifters?
