Re: Weapon R Intake

Yes, check out my page for a pic on how it looks. It makes the car scream. People think I have a Catback exhaust on it and supercharger just because of the intense growl it makes after 4000 rpm's. I reccomend this intake!!!!!!!!!!!!

WEAPON R INTAKE

I love the weapon r intake, it has a very i mean Very Aggressive Growl when you hit 3500 - 4000 RPM's. Take a look at mine installed on my Maxima Page!

I am looking to get an intake. I was thing about a weapon r but I readed somewhere that the foam filters are no good because over time the foam breaks down and gets sucked in. How long have you had yours and have you heard anything about that?

I haven't heard anything about the foam filter doing that, actually it's a first for me to hear about. I have only had mine 2 months and have had no problem whatsover with it. The nice thing about it is you can use the weapon r intake as a ram air intake. Weapon R webpage has the extra fittings. It hooks to the end of the filter with a hose and place the ram opening either behind your grill or underneath. Take a look , heres the page to go to. You could also get an apexi filter which I have heard is the best for like $65 itself!!!

i've owned 3 nissans in my life a 96 se-R, a 95 maxima and my 02 max. i've used weapon-R's on the other 2 and i have another one on order now for my new beast. i swear, EVERY time i beat someone in a race they pull next to me and say "what kind of intake is that?". i raced a kid in my old maxima and he was in a new se-r spec v and he actually pulled out a pad and pen and then asked what kind it was. i love em.

Just curious, do u feel any lag or lack of torque during warmer months like other short ram intakes?

Obviously, though, what's best for the 2000 Toyauto Celica GTS is not necessarily the best for a Maxima, or any other car for that matter.

Well, Since we are in a Maxima Site I answered it that way. I didn't realize that Toyota made a Maxima. I guess I better think about the other cars when I answer or lend some advice next time.

Any reports of the oil in the foam filter causing MAF failures?

How much time does it take to install?

Did you re-program your ECU when you installed your intake?

I let the car sit with the Battery Disconnected overnight and then hooked it back up. Thats what I was told to do so the ECU could adjust to the modification.

Weapon R Intake

Nothing yet at all, Actually took it apart already to take a look inside and it is spotless inside. I have heard other intakes but this one screams. If I can get a recorder I will try and get a sound for you while driving and while at an idle. At idle it sounds like any other max, soon as you give it some gas you hear that filter sucking in the air and WOW it sounds Awsome. A Growl for sure!!!!

Damn, this sounds good. But I'm already on my 3 intake.
I had the Berk intake then the Injen and now I have the Frakencar. I don't think I wanna change any more.

Is this Weapon R intake better than Frankencar?
Also that Ram Air thing looks interesting.

I wish there was a way that I could get a sound clip of my 2003 Maxima 6 speed so everyone could hear how intense this Intake sounds. Maybe tomorrow I will buy a voice recorder and get a soundclip of my Maxima. I have heard other cars, Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi... with intakes and it was nothing like the Weapon R and the Nissan. Even the Auto shop I do my work at says they haven't heard an intake like this before. So hopefully by tomorrow I will have a sound clip for everyone to hear which will make the decision easier. Have a great night and start to the week.

i have a quicktime of my 95 max with a weapon-r dragon. i'll send it to anyone that wants to hear and see it. it's only about 10 seconds long but the sound is pretty good, especailly if your computer has a subwoofer. it's taken from the passenger's perspective. i haven't gotten the new one yet. i ordered lights and a keychain and all with the intake. all the other stuff came except the one thing i was really waiting for. i'll bet the 3.5 sounds crazy with an intake. my buddy has an 01 acura cl type s witha an intake (aem i think) and the the car just hums at idle. i've heard the vq35 does the same thing
