converting to HID

I just bought a 2000 Maxima GLE last week and I want to upgrade my headlights to xenon. I know I have to replace the bulbs and ballasts but I am unsure where to buy a true conversion kit. Will converting to HID void any warranty and if not where is good place to buy a kit? Thanks

It will void some off the warranty but it is about to be up(3-yr or 36,000). So at the end of 2003 it should be up. unless you bought it from a dealer. Also any Xenon not installed from the dealer is illegal(in Texas). I dont know about upgrading to the 2002-2003 headlights. Many Dealers say they want fit but dont trust them.

the 02/03 fits on the 00/01 alright. I got mine to fit, just now the headlight touches the bumber. The new bumpers have a dip. No big deal. Just took awhile to figure out the wiring. As for a kit, look for H4 types. I have a 4300K kit for sale.

you really shouldn't have a problem with warrenty because if you take it to the dealer for some reason...just take the hid's out....all kits now are plug and play with no cutting wires....enjoy

yeah your right, I got my 2k2 headlights in like 2 weeks ago and about a week ago I got a chance to install the purple/6500K HIDs in my fogs but they sent my the blue/5500K D2R bulbs for the headlights instead of the purple/6500K D2Rs and after a week of them sitting, they finally put a calltag on em and I got em picked up this monday, hopefully tomorrow or early next week I should be getting the correct bulbs in. I paid...well too much I got the Catz kit from www.liteswap.com . The Fogs are definetly brighter then stock but not as strong as the headlights, the headlights pull 35watts, the fogs pull only 21watts so no surpise there. I have a few pics on page 5 of my homepage but the headlights are still 4300K

Here is the weird thing, if you look at the light pattern on the ground from my fogs the color appears greenish but in person they are totally purple, the damn digicam isnt catching the color but this isnt the 1st time this has happend to some1. Ill more pics ect... when I get the D2Rs in but the color is purple in person, I dont know why the real color isnt coming out on the digicam. Its honestly capturing like 10% of the true color.

I dont think I will but if I want more light (like I need it ) ill get a phillips 35watt kit for the fogs and get diff bulbs but I dont think ill do that, what I have is more then bright enough and the high beam with the 2K2s are insane

Edit: Btw your lights look sick, better then I expected.
